Frequently asked questions
How big is the field?
The field is approximately 2 acers about the size of a professional football pitch.
What are the parking arrangements?
There is a hard standing entrance that can accommodate 2 vehicles. You can drive in, reverse up to the field gate, close the main gate and let the dogs out of your vehicle on lead into field. Closing the field gate before letting your dog(s) off the lead. Additional parking is available on request.
How tall are the fences?
The field is surrounded by 2m fencing.
Is there any agility equipment in the field?
No. The field has areas of long grass and wildflowers as well as 2 large established pear trees, and a large banking along one side (which dogs love zooming up and down!) there is no dog agility equipment or manmade structures as the field is specifically designed for dogs that need a quiet secure place to exercise.
Can I bring my XL Bully?
Yes, please agree to the T&Cs set out on booking form before completing payment.
Is the field suitable for large groups?
We do allow and plan occasional group meet ups but these are by prior arrangement and are subject to an extra cost. We are restricted to the number of dogs at one time – 6 maximum. The parking one site is restricted to 2 vehicles however, additional parking is available on request.
What is your policy on dog waste collection?
We ask you to clean up after your own dogs, just as you would if you went for a walk in a public space. We appreciate that dogs can sometimes toilet without you seeing so it isn’t always possible to get them all so we operate an “if you find one pick it up” policy. Please use the dog waste bins provided.
Is the field guaranteed to be escape proof?
No – we check the perimeter twice daily for any obvious gaps / issues; however, we cannot guarantee that a determined dog will not get out. There may be small gaps under the gates or rabbit / small burrowing animal holes on the fence line that can appear quickly and can provide an escape route for a small dog. We recommend that you always check the fields suitability for your own dog(s) and always be vigilant if they are diggers or escape artists! Also please let us know immediately if you spot an issue with the fence/gate.
How do I get the code for the gate lock?
You will receive a text message and email 2 hours before your booked time with the details of the code for that day. If you have not received the text or email within that time please phone me on 07724036047.
Can I bring children to the field?
Yes – children are more than welcome but please remember that this is a dog exercise field and not a playground so there are mole hills, divots and small holes plus occasionally dog poo therefore, children running around the field is at the parents / guardian’s risk. Brighouse Dog Field is a semi-rural location with residential homes close by. Please respect our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum. There are swings however these are to be used at your own risk.

Refunds will only be given if cancellation is made at least 48 hours before the booked appointment.
